As an all-female team working in the commercial real estate industry, a predominantly male-dominated industry, we appreciate the importance and significance of celebrating International Women’s Day.

International Women’s Day—March 8—is a day dedicated to helping nations worldwide eliminate discrimination against women. It’s a day that focuses on helping to protect and promote women’s rights and to gain full and equal participation in global development.

There are lots of different ways to honour International Women’s Day:

  1. Educate yourself. Watch this 14-minute TED Talk about how women are disproportionately affected by climate change, but also play a crucial role in tackling climate change.
  2. Educate others. Share the TED Talk with friends and family to help increase awareness of the gender-climate connection.
  3. Join the IWD Toronto 2019 Rally & March.
  4. Organize your own event or activity. There are tons of great resources on the International Women’s Day website to help you get started.
  5. Learn more about female-focused charities and foundations and how you can get involved or support them through engagement or donations.

“To rapidly, radically reshape society, we need every solution and every solver, every mind, every bit of heart, every set of hands, and women and girls are a fierce source of possibility”. – Katharine Wilkinson

Note: We celebrate International Men’s Day too—November 19. Gender equality means equality for all. We see strength and value in our diversity.
